Over recent years, the sliding window has undergone a notable evolution in specification and ease of use. This evolution is focused primarily on meeting current demands for thermal and acoustic efficiency. This results in profiles with large thermal breaks and considerably thicker glass. As a result of this, the dimensions of the profiles have increased greatly, meaning that the hardware which brings them windows to life has also had to evolve.
STAC presents their new HL BOGIES, which stand out for the fact that they can adapt to all types of sliding window system, they are height-adjustable and can bear loads up to 200 kg per sash.
ADAPTABILITY
The bogies are available in 2 different sizes to allow distinct wheel widths and thus be usable in any rail system. The runner is manufactured in POM (polyoxomethylene) which guarantees its durability and avoids wear of the wheel and rail. For more demanding projects, the runners are also available in stainless steel.
To achieve the perfect housing in the profile and adapt to any sliding window series, we offer polyamide adapter covers which remove the thermal bridge of the bogie.
TILTING
Mainly, the bogies for sliding windows fail due to wear of the wheel bearings. This is due to the high forces that some wheels bear compared to others, i.e. the weight is not evenly distributed to all wheels.
The design of the new bogies has been developed with the premise of balancing the load which each wheel bears via a novel rocker system which increases lifetime expectancy.
EFFECTIVE ADJUSTMENT ±2,3 mm
If required during the installation of the windows, it is possible to adjust the height of the bogies directly, by use of a 5mm Allen key (not included as part of referenced product).
ROBUSTNESS AND DURABILITY
The structure of the bogies is made of Zamak with a natural zinc treatment. This allows it to withstand up to 480 hours in a saline mist tank (SMT), ensuring a high level of corrosion resistance.
The bearings are needle roller bearings, which ensure quality rolling even under heavy loads.
